25 Manliest Movies Ever Made

With Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (starring Brad Pitt) storming into theaters this weekend, Entertainment Weekly takes a look at 25 Manliest Movies Ever Made.

ALIENS (1986)
Manly Men: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton
What, just because the lead character of this movie is a woman, it can't be manly? Hold your tongue! One could say that this film is about a mother protecting her surrogate child from another mother whose babies have acid for blood. One could also say that it's about a squad of kick-ass astro-marines leveling giant guns at space bugs and making them go splat. Either way, it counts.

300 (2006)
Manly Men: Gerard Butler, David Wenham, 298 other guys
As Sparta's King Leonidas (Butler) tells the Persian invader, Xerxes, ''The world will know that free men stood against a tyrant, that few stood against many, and before this battle was over, even a god-king can bleed.'' That's right, as the legend goes, for a few days, a bare (and barely dressed) 300 men stopped a million-man army from invading Greece. And nothing says ''manly'' like fellas in codpieces cutting down their enemies.

FIGHT CLUB (1999)
Manly Men: Brad Pitt, Edward Norton
Two guys who beat each other to pulps in order to feel more alive, to reclaim their manhood from a society that has emasculated them at every turn, which then inspires a coast-to-coast underground movement? Done.
