With Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (starring Brad Pitt) storming into theaters this weekend, Entertainment Weekly takes a look at 25 Manliest Movies Ever Made.

ALIENS (1986)

What, just because the lead character of this movie is a woman, it can't be manly? Hold your tongue! One could say that this film is about a mother protecting her surrogate child from another mother whose babies have acid for blood. One could also say that it's about a squad of kick-ass astro-marines leveling giant guns at space bugs and making them go splat. Either way, it counts.

As Sparta's King Leonidas (Butler) tells the Persian invader, Xerxes, ''The world will know that free men stood against a tyrant, that few stood against many, and before this battle was over, even a god-king can bleed.'' That's right, as the legend goes, for a few days, a bare (and barely dressed) 300 men stopped a million-man army from invading Greece. And nothing says ''manly'' like fellas in codpieces cutting down their enemies.
