AfterElton.com recently asked its readers to vote on who The Next Great Gay Diva is. I wasn't too impressed with the list. Miley Cyrus (!) on the same list as Kylie Minogue? A 17-year old Great Gay Diva? Honey, you have to E-A-R-N that title through years of performing and giving back to the LGBT community. Miley should not be on the list, period. And Kylie is already a diva and gay icon.

AE's editor, Michael Jensen explains some of the voting results:

When the votes first started coming in, it looked like it was going to be a slam dunk for Lady Gaga to take the title. But part of being a diva is having a fanbase passionate enough to show their support and while Adam Lambert briefly had the lead, first Britney Spears grabbed it... I have to say I was shocked that neither Lady Gaga nor Adam Lambert's fans ever did a big vote push. Perhaps that says something about their followings?
