"As reported earlier, NBC’s Today Show has officially opened the Modern Wedding Contest to same-sex couples," reports GLAAD. "The application deadline was originally Friday, July 9th, but has been extended until Monday, July 12th to give same-sex couples more time to apply. GLAAD encourages all loving committed couples to take advantage of this deadline extension and apply to the contest."Wouldn't it be sweet karmic justice if a gay or lesbian couple did win the contest after all the confusion this needless controversy caused?
