Two recent books have chosen to probe what it means to be Caucasian: Christian Lander’s Stuff White People Like and Stephen Hunt’s The White Guy: A Field Guide. Each book suggests that its white male author is waking up to the historical context of being white and male, and trying to work out the baggage of his historical dominance.
