Senate Confirms Judge Sonia Sotomayor 68-31

Rod 2.0 reports: U. S. Court of Appeals Judge Sonia Sotomayor wins confirmation as the nation's 111th Supreme Court justice and the first ever of Hispanic descent. The vote was 68 to 31. The support included nine Republican 'yes' votes and 59 from the Democratic side of the aisle. All 31 votes against Sotomayor came from Republicans.

Hollywood film director, John Hughes has died

TMZ is reporting that Hollywood film director, John Hughes (pictured), has died in New York City. He was 59. Hughes was going for a morning walk in New York City when he collapsed.

Actor Brad Pitt talks about gay civil rights

Brad Pitt:
"I have love in my life, a soul mate ­absolutely. When someone asked me why Angie and I don't get married, I replied, Maybe we'll get married when it's legal for everyone else." I stand by that, although I took a lot of flak for saying it­--hate mail from religious groups," Pitt revealed. "I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I've had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment."
