Republican Mark Kirk's U.S. Senate campaign responds to gay rumor attack ad

"Republican Illinois Congressman Mark Kirk's U.S. Senate campaign has responded to a radio attack ad by fellow Republican Andy Martin accusing him of being homosexual," reports MyStateLine.com. In a statement, Kirk spokesperson Eric Elk says the ad isn't true and is "degrading to the political process." Elk also responded to accusations by Martin that Kirk was "in seclusion." Elk says Kirk is actually serving on active duty as a U.S. Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer and isn't available for comment.
